Somerville Police "buttons, five buttons in each row. Distance between buttons
7 inches at top and 4-£ inches at bottom, measured from, eye to eye.
Edges of coat to be. double stitched 5/8 inch, no seam in
ceriter of back of coat. All seams lap-stitched 5/8 inch. Bottom of coat to
be raw edge.
Collar - To be 2% inches wide, rolling, with a stand, cut in
one piece. To be closed with one hook and eye and a tab extension on inside
of collar.
Linings - Same as overcoat. ,:. -
Pockets - Two outside horizontal pockets just below the hip,
with flaps that can be worn inside or outside. Two inside breast pockets,
one outside breast pocket right side; one inside cash, left lower side,
Facings - Shall be of- the same material as overcoat, not less
than 7 inches in width at top and tapering straight to not less than 4 inches
at bottom.
Provisions for attaching shields - Three metal loops, first
placed on left breast on a line with second button from top, two remaining
ones spaced' 3/4 inch apart.
Guffs - Same as winter riding coats.
Buttonholes - To be well made.
Traffic Reefers
Material - Thirty-ounce, regulation blue cloth.
Reefers shall, be made to button to the neck, length not -less
than 7 inches above center of knee. Double breasted, semifitting, with two
rows of regulation Somerville Police. buttons on breast, six buttons in each
row, buttons on left .side to be sunk and securely fastened with rings and
leathers, top buttons to be -11 inches apart from eye to eye, lower buttons
to be 6 inches apart from eye to eye.
Edges - Double stitched 5/8 inch and stay-taped. All seams
plain side. Vents 11 inches long to be fastened by concealed snajj .tuttons
and eyes and to snap from back to front.

, Trousers for Captains and Lieutenants - To be out in prevailing
style with 12-ligne mohair braid. 1-inch wide, on outside seams'.
Two side pockets, two hip pockets, one billet pocket on right seam below hip
pocket. Front crotch and not less than four inches of the rear crotch shall
be lined with linen and cotton,
Trousers for Sergeants - To be made as for patrolmen, except
same shall have black mohair braid, 3/8 wide, .sewn on the outside seams.
