Medical Society, for the purpose <strong>of</strong> the following:- Uniting physicians <strong>of</strong><br />

Italian birth or descent and other physicians married to physicians <strong>of</strong> Ital-<br />

ian birth or descent; encouraging and. promoting the moral, scientific, edu-<br />

cational and economical welfare <strong>of</strong> its members, and in connection therewith<br />

to issue and publish bulletins., circulars and publications containing matters<br />

<strong>of</strong> interest to the medical pr<strong>of</strong>ession; and being instrumental in erecting,<br />

aiding or in 'any way assisting in the establishment <strong>of</strong> a general hospital,<br />

not conducted for pr<strong>of</strong>it, to be located in Boston, Mass.<br />

said communications being accompanied by a report from the chief <strong>of</strong> police<br />

stating that he does not find that any <strong>of</strong> said incorporators have ever been<br />

engaged in the illegal selling <strong>of</strong> intoxicating liquors or in keeping places<br />

or tenements used for the purpose <strong>of</strong> illegal gaming, or in any other business<br />

or vocation prohibited by law or are persons <strong>of</strong> ill repute.<br />

In response to the reouest <strong>of</strong> the Board <strong>of</strong> Aldermen relative to an<br />

opinion with reference to the legality <strong>of</strong> the a'ppointment <strong>of</strong> a Legislative<br />

Counsel I wish to say that authority for the same is found in General Laws,<br />

Chap. 40, sec. 5 115), and also Revised Ordinances <strong>of</strong> 1929, Chap. 9, Sec. 1.<br />
