r.eal or personal property held or by it acquired, or to pledge the same, or<br />

any part there<strong>of</strong>, for money borrowed, and otherwise to do, pursuant to law,<br />

any act or thing that may be necessary to carry out or effect the. af-oresaid<br />

purposes and objects <strong>of</strong> the corporation.<br />

. Said communications being accompanied by a report from the<br />

chief <strong>of</strong> police stating that upon investigation the above named persons <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>Somerville</strong> have not been engaged in the illegal selling <strong>of</strong> intoxicating li-<br />

quors, or in keeping places or tenements used for the purpose <strong>of</strong> illegal<br />

gaming or in any other business or vocation prohibited by law, and that all<br />

saj.d persons are <strong>of</strong> good repute.<br />

Placed on file and certificate to be. forwarded to the secretary<br />

signed by members <strong>of</strong> the board.<br />

To the Honorable, the Board <strong>of</strong> Aldermen<br />

Gentlemen:<br />

February 24, 1930<br />

Pendi-ng. the adoption <strong>of</strong> the annual budget. I hereby request that<br />

your Honorable Board appropriate the sum <strong>of</strong> $1,550.00 to cover the expenses<br />

<strong>of</strong> the Coughlin award under the Workmen's Compensation.<br />

This order is necessary as the quota allowed for January, February<br />

and. March will be exceeded.<br />
