REPORTS OF COMMITTEE. .<br />

The Committee on. Finance on the communication from his honor<br />

the mayor settlement <strong>of</strong> claim on property damage Mary P. Lemos, reported an<br />

order.<br />

Accepted.<br />

The order submitted with the foregoing report is as follows:<br />

Ordered: .<br />

His.honor the Mayor is hereby authorized to<br />

make settlement for land and buildings taken for schoolhouse purposes <strong>of</strong><br />

.premises numbered 29-51 Summer street, said premises being shown and marked<br />

as land "now or formerly <strong>of</strong> Mary P. Lemos" on "plan <strong>of</strong> land tfk en for schoolhouse<br />

purposes dated June, 1929, by Ernest W. Danforth, <strong>City</strong> Engineer", the<br />

amount to be paid on said settlement not to exceed the sum <strong>of</strong> seven thousand<br />

one hundred forty-nine (7,149) dollars. The taxes .for the year 1929 on the<br />

aforesaid premises are to be paid by the said Mary P. Lemos out <strong>of</strong> the money<br />

received on said settlement by.her.<br />

The expense so incurred on account <strong>of</strong> said settlement is to be<br />

charged to "Addition Southern Junior High Account" as provided for in appropriation<br />

made by the Board <strong>of</strong> Aldermen.<br />

Read twice and adopted.<br />

Approved by the mayor July 21, 1930.<br />

UNFINISHED BUSINESS.<br />

Order that Bow street between Walnut street and Union square be constructed<br />

Read twice and adopted.<br />

with permanent paving, which at the meeting <strong>of</strong><br />

July 10, 1930 further action was delayed under<br />

section 15 <strong>of</strong> the city charter, was<br />

Approved by the mayor July 21, 1930.'<br />

Order_a.u,thorizing his honor the Mayor to sell property at corner <strong>of</strong> Prospect<br />

st. and <strong>Somerville</strong> avenue, which at the meet-<br />

ing <strong>of</strong> July 10, 1930.further action was de-<br />

layed under section 15 <strong>of</strong> the city charter, re-<br />

ceived action as follows:<br />

Question came on accepting the report <strong>of</strong> Committee. The vote<br />

\vas by roll call, 14 Aldermen voting in the affirmative, 2 aldermen voting<br />

in the negative, 3 aldermen being absent, the president not voting, and the<br />

report <strong>of</strong> committee was accepted. The order was then read twice and adopted.<br />

Approved by the mayor July 21, 1930.<br />

Order transferring $2,500 fromReserve Fund, Surplus from Overlays to Ele c -<br />

trical Dept. account, which at the last meet-<br />

ing further action was delayed for this meeting<br />

received action as follows:<br />

Question came on passing the order to a second reading, yea<br />

and nay vote taken and the order was passed to a second reading. Question<br />

then came on the adoption <strong>of</strong> the order, rising vote taken, 11 aldermen vot-<br />
