The Board <strong>of</strong> Election Commissioners is hereby<br />

r equested to employ for work on election day as election <strong>of</strong>ficers or count ing<br />

ballots after the closing <strong>of</strong> the polls men and women who are unemployed and<br />

not those who already have jobs.<br />

Alderman ^erry <strong>of</strong>fered the following order;,.<br />

That the street light at the corner <strong>of</strong> Bradley<br />

street and Jackson road be increased from 80 c.p, to 250 c.p. also the street<br />

light on the northerly side <strong>of</strong> Bradley street be increased from 80 c.p. to<br />

600 c.p. the expense <strong>of</strong> same to be charged to street Lighting Account.<br />

Referred to Committee on Electric Lines and Lights.<br />

Alderman Rafferty <strong>of</strong>fered uhe following order and motion,<br />

The sum <strong>of</strong> fifteen hundred (1500) dollars is<br />

hereby transferred from Excess and Deficiency Account to Board <strong>of</strong> Aldermen<br />

Expenses account.<br />

honor the Mayor for his approval or disapproval.On Oct. 11, 1930 order was<br />

returned to the city clerk by the mayor with no action taken.<br />

On motion <strong>of</strong> Alderman Kafferty question came on reconsidering<br />

the action taken at the previous meeting in giving leave to withdraw on pe-<br />

tition <strong>of</strong> Anna R. Titelbaum for storage <strong>of</strong> gasoline 168-170-172 Broadway.<br />

Action was reconsidered. On motion <strong>of</strong> Alderman Rafferty petition was then<br />

referred to the Committee on Licenses and Permits.<br />

Alderman Moran <strong>of</strong>fered the following order,<br />

His honor the Mayor is hereby requested jto give<br />

to the Board <strong>of</strong> Aldermen at the next meeting complete information regarding<br />

the "" v<br />

the financial status <strong>of</strong> allAbidders on the Western Junior High School con-<br />

struction work. The Board <strong>of</strong> Aldermen desires a statement <strong>of</strong> the assets and<br />

liabilities <strong>of</strong> the companies or persons who submitted bids for that work. The<br />

Mayor is also requested to consider the advisability <strong>of</strong> rejecting all bids<br />

submitted and asking for new bids.<br />

Question came on the adoption <strong>of</strong> the order. Aid. Denning <strong>of</strong>-<br />

fered an amendment "that the Mayor give preference to local contracts". This<br />
