Profiles: Germany<br />

The first 9 months of the programme are theoretical, <strong>and</strong> are followed by a 3-month work placement,<br />

conclud<strong>in</strong>g with a one-week evaluation <strong>and</strong> personal coach<strong>in</strong>g of the students.<br />

Cultural Management:<br />

The ma<strong>in</strong> objective is to <strong>in</strong>crease the professional level of <strong>cultural</strong> managers.<br />

International/European dimension<br />

The <strong>in</strong>stitution is an associate member of ENCATC.<br />

Evaluation <strong>and</strong> assessment<br />

European Cultural Management:<br />

Student performance is evaluated through exam<strong>in</strong>ations, papers <strong>and</strong> practical work/<strong>in</strong>ternship.<br />

Lecturers<br />

The Academy works with free-lance tra<strong>in</strong>ers <strong>and</strong> professional <strong>cultural</strong> managers. The person<br />

responsible for the study programmes is Heike Muss.<br />

Entry requirements<br />

European Cultural Management:<br />

Applicants should have a higher academic degree <strong>and</strong> some practical experience <strong>in</strong> <strong>cultural</strong> work,<br />

extensive professional experience <strong>in</strong> <strong>cultural</strong> project <strong>management</strong> or an academic education with<strong>in</strong> the<br />

arts (music, act<strong>in</strong>g, sculpture etc.). Good communication skills are also required.<br />

Cultural Management:<br />

Applicants should have work experience <strong>in</strong> <strong>cultural</strong> project <strong>management</strong>.<br />

Students are from Germany <strong>and</strong> abroad.<br />

Number of students admitted<br />

European Cultural Management - current number of students is 20.<br />

Cultural Management - current number of students is 15.<br />

Course fee<br />

Cultural Management – EUR 1,380<br />

Grants or other f<strong>in</strong>ancial support<br />

Students who are unemployed <strong>in</strong> Germany may obta<strong>in</strong> f<strong>in</strong>ance from the National Labour Office.<br />
