DENMARK<br />

Advanced Studies <strong>in</strong> Aesthetics <strong>and</strong> Culture.<br />

Diploma: The programme delivers a master's degree.<br />

Content<br />

The programme is organized <strong>in</strong> two parts.<br />

A) Cultural theory <strong>and</strong> film-related courses:<br />

- first semester: <strong>cultural</strong> theory, analysis <strong>and</strong> policies, analysis of organisations <strong>and</strong> <strong>in</strong>stitutions (I),<br />

field study report;<br />

- second semester: aesthetics <strong>and</strong> culture of film, <strong>cultural</strong> theory, analysis <strong>and</strong> policies, organisations<br />

<strong>and</strong> <strong>in</strong>stitutions (II), historical changes <strong>in</strong> art forms (I);<br />

- third semester: special subject (I), special subject (II), historical changes <strong>in</strong> art form (II);<br />

- fourth semester: f<strong>in</strong>al thesis.<br />

B) Arts related courses:<br />

- first semester: aesthetics <strong>and</strong> culture of literature, aesthetics <strong>and</strong> culture of theatre, the field of<br />

aesthetics;<br />

- second semester: aesthetics <strong>and</strong> culture of visual arts, aesthetics <strong>and</strong> culture of music;<br />

- third semester: <strong>cultural</strong> theory, historical changes <strong>in</strong> art forms;<br />

- fourth semester: thesis;<br />

Classes are <strong>in</strong> Danish. Non-Danish speak<strong>in</strong>g students are offered both assistance to f<strong>in</strong>d a placement<br />

<strong>in</strong> a <strong>cultural</strong> <strong>in</strong>stitution where they can communicate <strong>in</strong> English, <strong>and</strong> <strong>in</strong>dividual counsel<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> English.<br />

Duration<br />

2 years.<br />

Special <strong>in</strong>formation<br />

<strong>Tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g</strong> delivered <strong>in</strong> art <strong>management</strong> is part of a larger tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g programme. Those courses can be<br />

selected by students as special fields of <strong>in</strong>terest. The programme is fully oriented towards<br />

<strong>in</strong>terdiscipl<strong>in</strong>arity.<br />

International/European dimension<br />

The tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g centre is <strong>in</strong>volved <strong>in</strong> the Erasmus/Socrates programmes. It has established connections<br />

with other European tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g centres (France, UK, Spa<strong>in</strong>, Netherl<strong>and</strong>s).<br />

Entry requirements<br />

C<strong>and</strong>idates must have completed 2 years at a university level.<br />
