The University of Vaasa has 4,600 students, 380 professors, researchers, and staff; four faculties and
five different institutes: it is a research university where students study business, languages, culture
and communication, social sciences, and technology. The University works in close cooperation with
businesses and the municipality and regional officials in the Vaasa area. Each year the University
enrols 700 new students.
