Background, orientation <strong>and</strong> purpose<br />

ISAACS is a consultancy whose values are fundamentally rooted <strong>in</strong> support<strong>in</strong>g the professional growth<br />

of groups <strong>and</strong> <strong>in</strong>dividuals with<strong>in</strong> a range of <strong>cultural</strong> communities. ISAACS provides specialist support <strong>in</strong><br />

areas of lifelong learn<strong>in</strong>g, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g arts <strong>in</strong> education, onl<strong>in</strong>e learn<strong>in</strong>g, cont<strong>in</strong>u<strong>in</strong>g professional<br />

development, <strong>and</strong> learn<strong>in</strong>g from European practice.<br />

ISAACS’ philosophy is about shar<strong>in</strong>g skills, improv<strong>in</strong>g practice, <strong>and</strong> achiev<strong>in</strong>g a greater underst<strong>and</strong><strong>in</strong>g<br />

of each other’s cultures. In both <strong>policy</strong> <strong>and</strong> practice, ISAACS is wholly committed to equality, diversity<br />

<strong>and</strong> <strong>in</strong>clusion. We aim to br<strong>in</strong>g about <strong>cultural</strong> change which affects people’s lives, raises st<strong>and</strong>ards <strong>and</strong><br />

Objectives:<br />

- to build susta<strong>in</strong>ability, <strong>in</strong>tegrate good practice <strong>and</strong> provide partnership work<strong>in</strong>g at many levels;<br />

- to support communities <strong>and</strong> their partners <strong>in</strong> pioneer<strong>in</strong>g <strong>cultural</strong> learn<strong>in</strong>g networks which directly<br />

meet their needs;<br />

- to build commitment to, <strong>and</strong> <strong>in</strong>tegration of, lifelong learn<strong>in</strong>g as a part of everyday culture.<br />

Courses are commissioned by clients. More <strong>in</strong>formation can be obta<strong>in</strong>ed from the <strong>in</strong>stitution.<br />

International/European dimension<br />

With membership of the ma<strong>in</strong> arts, <strong>cultural</strong>, tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g <strong>and</strong> educational networks across the EU (an<br />

associate member of ENCATC), ISAACS is well positioned to support a variety of partners based <strong>in</strong> the<br />

UK <strong>and</strong> other European countries. These <strong>in</strong>clude public <strong>and</strong> private sector entities such as government<br />

bodies, arts bodies, funders, unions, professional associations, community agencies, arts or <strong>cultural</strong><br />

networks, regulatory bodies, or <strong>in</strong>formal multi-agency partnerships work<strong>in</strong>g towards regional or<br />

national community programmes.<br />
