Background, orientation <strong>and</strong> purpose<br />

The KaosPilots - started <strong>in</strong> 1991 - is a 3-year Nordic education program <strong>in</strong> creative project <strong>and</strong><br />

bus<strong>in</strong>ess design. The aim has been to create new methods for education <strong>in</strong> an <strong>in</strong>ternational field of<br />

tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g focus<strong>in</strong>g on creative project <strong>and</strong> bus<strong>in</strong>ess design.<br />

The programme is located <strong>in</strong> the educational political arena where new concepts of competency <strong>and</strong><br />

education are under development - concepts where the entire life of the <strong>in</strong>dividual <strong>in</strong>volved is central.<br />

It is an experimental education, driven by the desire to discover new ways of act<strong>in</strong>g <strong>and</strong> th<strong>in</strong>k<strong>in</strong>g -<br />

new means of constructive agency <strong>in</strong> a world <strong>in</strong>creas<strong>in</strong>gly characterised by disorientation,<br />

reorientation <strong>and</strong> unpredictability.<br />

3 years.<br />

Content<br />

The degree takes 3 years <strong>and</strong> is divided <strong>in</strong>to five sections that are built upon each other.<br />

(1) Creation of the professional toolbox:<br />

- Project <strong>management</strong> <strong>and</strong> underst<strong>and</strong><strong>in</strong>g;<br />

- Process <strong>management</strong> (communication techniques, conflict h<strong>and</strong>l<strong>in</strong>g, decision tak<strong>in</strong>g);<br />

- Underst<strong>and</strong><strong>in</strong>g of evaluation tools;<br />

- IT tools <strong>and</strong> IT underst<strong>and</strong><strong>in</strong>g;<br />

- Development of ideas <strong>and</strong> creativity tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g;<br />

- PR <strong>and</strong> media underst<strong>and</strong><strong>in</strong>g;<br />

- Analysis <strong>and</strong> underst<strong>and</strong><strong>in</strong>g of current society.<br />

(2) Process <strong>management</strong>:<br />

- Concept <strong>and</strong> process underst<strong>and</strong><strong>in</strong>g;<br />

- Systemic <strong>and</strong> holistic underst<strong>and</strong><strong>in</strong>g of the connections between organisational culture, assignment<br />

<strong>and</strong> the choice of roles <strong>in</strong> the assignment execution;<br />

- Problem <strong>and</strong> context underst<strong>and</strong><strong>in</strong>g;<br />

- Contract clarification;<br />

- Dialog-like conversations <strong>and</strong> reflection processes, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g knowledge of <strong>and</strong> tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> processpromot<strong>in</strong>g<br />

effects of communication;<br />

- Coach<strong>in</strong>g <strong>management</strong> <strong>and</strong> support of processes for change;<br />

- Resistance to change;<br />

- The role of process manager <strong>and</strong> coach; <strong>and</strong><br />

- Ethical problems <strong>in</strong> the consult<strong>in</strong>g role;<br />

(3) Social entrepreneurship <strong>in</strong> an <strong>in</strong>ter<strong>cultural</strong> context;<br />

(4) Entrepreneurship <strong>and</strong> <strong>in</strong>novation <strong>in</strong> an <strong>in</strong>ter<strong>cultural</strong> context;<br />
