Background, orientation and purpose
The University of Sheffield was established in 1905. Its mission is to maintain the highest standards of

Content
The main objectives of the programme are to introduce students to core management disciplines and
to enable them to apply management principles to arts and heritage contexts with confidence.
Applications are accepted until the September before the course starts, depending on the availability
of places.
Evaluation and assessment
Student performance is evaluated through research and a final paper/thesis.
Lecturers
The number of teaching personnel is 3, of which 1 is a woman. All are permanent. The person
responsible for the study programme is Kirsten Holmes (Course Leader).
Entry requirements
For the Master’s degree, applicants should have a university degree; appropriate experience is
desirable. For entry to the diploma level, applicants are accepted with vocational qualifications and
work experience. They can progress to the Master’s if successful on the taught programme. All
applicants whose mother tongue is not English must have an English language qualification (either
IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 600/250).
