Profiles: Germany<br />

Students participate <strong>in</strong> the International Festival of Film Academies at Munich. The Academy also<br />

hosts an annual open house.<br />

Evaluation <strong>and</strong> assessment<br />

Student performance is evaluated through exam<strong>in</strong>ations/papers, a f<strong>in</strong>al paper/thesis <strong>and</strong> practical<br />

work/<strong>in</strong>ternship.<br />

Lecturers<br />

The number of teach<strong>in</strong>g personnel is 28, 13 of whom are women. All are permanent. The person<br />

responsible for the study programmes is Prof. Dr h. c. Albert Scharf.<br />

Entry requirements<br />

Applicants should have proof of proficiency <strong>in</strong> the German language <strong>and</strong> a high school degree or<br />

equivalent. They should be aged between 18 <strong>and</strong> 30.<br />

Applicants must take an aptitude test, <strong>in</strong> which those applicants who have successfully completed the<br />

pre-selection process are tested with both a practical <strong>and</strong> an oral exam. Committees from each<br />

department choose which applicants may proceed to the practical <strong>and</strong> oral exam<strong>in</strong>ations.<br />

Students are young adults from Germany <strong>and</strong> abroad.<br />

EUR 28 per semester, EUR 56 per year.<br />
