Some courses or sem<strong>in</strong>ars <strong>in</strong> Cultural Policy/Politics are arranged every year.<br />

International/European dimension<br />

Student <strong>and</strong> lecturer exchange programmes with <strong>in</strong>ternational universities are an <strong>in</strong>tegral part of this<br />

programme. The programme has bilateral agreements, e.g. with the University of Maastricht,<br />

University of M<strong>in</strong>ho, European University Institute, <strong>and</strong> University of Santiago de Compostela. Student<br />

exchanges also take place with other universities which provide education <strong>in</strong> the field of <strong>cultural</strong><br />

<strong>policy</strong>. The <strong>in</strong>stitution is a member of ENCATC.<br />

Lecturers<br />

The number of teach<strong>in</strong>g personnel is 2 full-time <strong>and</strong> 6 part-time lecturers. The person responsible for<br />

the programme is Anita Kangas.<br />

Entry requirements<br />

Master of Social Sciences:<br />

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree <strong>in</strong> social <strong>policy</strong>, political science, sociology or philosophy.<br />

Students major<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> other subjects can be accepted <strong>in</strong>to the programme, but they are expected to<br />

change their major subject to one offered at the Department of Social Sciences <strong>and</strong> Philosophy.<br />

PhD <strong>in</strong> Cultural Policy:<br />

Master’s degree.<br />

Student profile<br />

Bachelors <strong>and</strong> Masters of Social Sciences or Art who are experienced <strong>in</strong> the field.<br />

Number of students admitted<br />

Master of Social Sciences: 15 students per year <strong>in</strong> the Degree Programme <strong>in</strong> Cultural Policy.<br />

PhD <strong>in</strong> Cultural Policy: A few per year <strong>in</strong> the PhD programme.<br />

None.<br />

Grants or other f<strong>in</strong>ancial support<br />

All F<strong>in</strong>nish full-time students receive support from the state. International students can apply for<br />

grants from Socrates/ Erasmus programmes.<br />
