Your committee has considered communication 3-27-6 from James A.<br />

Koski, Public Works Commissioner asking approval of a resolution<br />

authorizing the Public Works Commissioner to initiate the Taymouth<br />

Township <strong>2001</strong> Water Supply System Improvements project.<br />

The proposed project consists of a water supply transmission line<br />

and related appurtenances running from the intersection of Nichols<br />

Road and Vern Road along Verne Road to Dorwood Road, then along<br />

Dorwood Road to E. Birch Run Road, then along E. Birch Run Road to<br />

Nichols Road. The approximate cost of the project is estimated to<br />

be $375,000.<br />

We agree with the request. Under the proper order of business, the<br />

appropriate resolution will be submitted.<br />

FROM: COMMITTEE ON COUNTY SERVICES -- 3.3 MARCH 27, <strong>2001</strong><br />

At the December 2000 session, the Board authorized the Parks<br />

Commission to submit a grant application to the Michigan<br />

Department of Transportation (MDOT) for 2002 funds for development<br />

of a 141' bridge over Swan Creek and asphalt the rail trail<br />

between Benkert Road and Swan Creek Road. The Parks Commission<br />

will be notified later this month as to whether the grant funds<br />

will be awarded.<br />

In this connection, we received communication 3-27-8 from John<br />

Schmude, Parks Director asking the Board to authorize a grant<br />

application in the amount of $493,000 to the Michigan Department<br />
