APPOINTMENTS<br />

Chairman Fish made the following appointments:<br />

Commission on Aging - Jeanne Swank, District #10 (term expires 4-<br />

1-04)<br />

East Central MI Planning & Development (terms expire 12-31-04)<br />

<strong>County</strong> - Michael Hanley, Doug Bishop<br />

Planning Commission (terms expire 12-31-04)<br />

Seymour Geiersbach, Douglas Bishop, John Leachman<br />

ANNOUNCEMENTS BY THE CHAIR<br />

Chairman Fish thanked Chief Circuit Judge Leopold Borrello for his<br />

willingness to help balance the <strong>County</strong> Budget. At this day's<br />

session, the Board approved a reorganization of the Circuit Court<br />

Office after the resignation of the Deputy Court Administrator.<br />

The estimated savings is $56,900. Other county departments were<br />

encouraged to follow the Court's example to avoid layoffs next<br />

year.<br />

Chairman Fish called on Judge Borrello who commented how the<br />

commissioners and courts have always worked together and he hoped<br />

this would continue. He gave assurances that the reorganization<br />

will not result in diminished services of the court.<br />

Chairman Fish thanked elected officials, department heads and<br />

staff for working with him the last three years. He looked<br />

forward to seeing everyone next year and wished everyone a very<br />

Merry Christmas.<br />

COMMISSIONERS' AUDIENCES<br />

Commissioner Smith joined Chairman Fish in thanking officials and<br />

staff. She commended the Chairman for being such a unifying<br />

force, for showing strong leadership, and for always listening to<br />

each commissioner. "You've done an excellent job."<br />

Commissioner Collison congratulated Chairman Fish and his wife<br />

Marty, who was in the audience, on their recent marriage. She<br />

echoed Commissioner Smith in her comments about Chairman Fish, and<br />

stated "We all value you."<br />
