Board of Commissioners March 27, <strong>2001</strong><br />

WHEREAS, The <strong>County</strong> of <strong>Saginaw</strong> is a participating<br />

municipality of the Michigan Municipal Employees Retirement System<br />

in accordance with Act No. 427, Public Acts of 1984;<br />

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the Board of<br />

Commissioners of the <strong>County</strong> of <strong>Saginaw</strong> does hereby change the<br />

Primary Benefit Program for the job classifications of Animal<br />

Control (MERS Division 17) to enhance retirement eligibility with<br />

50 years of age with 25 years of service. All benefit<br />

enhancements will be provided with no employee contribution. Prior<br />

benefit provisions will remain in effect; and,<br />

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the effective date of this<br />

enhancement will be January 1, <strong>2001</strong>; and,<br />

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the <strong>County</strong> Clerk shall file a<br />

certified copy of this resolution with the Michigan Municipal<br />

Employees Retirement Board within ten days after its adoption.<br />

OPPOSING FUNDING REDUCTIONS TO<br />

SAGINAW COUNTY COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH AUTHORITY<br />

BY THE MICHIGAN DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY HEALTH<br />

WHEREAS, The <strong>Saginaw</strong> <strong>County</strong> Community Mental Health Authority, its<br />

Board and CEO, have informed the Human Services Committee and<br />

Legislative Subcommittee of the <strong>Saginaw</strong> <strong>County</strong> Board of<br />

Commissioners, of a significant Medicaid funding reduction to the<br />

Authority by the Michigan Department of Community Health; and,<br />
