FROM: COMMITTEE ON COUNTY SERVICES -- 2.1 SEPTEMBER 18, 2001
In accordance with Section 3A of the Management Agreement between
Saginaw County and the Saginaw County Convention & Visitors Bureau
(Bureau), the Board of Commissioners shall approve the Bureau's
budget by the beginning of the budget year (October 1). In this
connection we received communication 9-18-12 from Marc McGill,
Saginaw County Controller forwarding the attached proposed budget
for the Bureau for 2001/2002.
We met with Barry Dickston, the Bureau's President/CEO, who
informed us the proposed 2001/2002 budget is similar to last
year's. He noted that room tax collections may be down during the
next year because of the slow economy.
The Bureau's Executive Board has approved the proposed budget.
Their full Board will be meeting on September 18 at noon to
formally adopt same.
It is the recommendation of your committee to accept the proposed
FY 2001/2002 budget for the Saginaw County Convention & Visitor's
Bureau, contingent on their Board of Director's formal approval.
