“Spend Down” and will officially express in writing these concerns<br />

to state officials; and,<br />

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the <strong>Saginaw</strong> <strong>County</strong> Board of<br />

Commissioners shares with the SCCMHA Board its concern for<br />

inadequate and inequitable funding for <strong>Saginaw</strong> <strong>County</strong>, greatly<br />

hindering the ability of the SCCMHA to meet the service and<br />

support needs of citizens with disabilities and their families.<br />

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be sent to<br />

the Governor, Michigan Department of Community Health, area<br />

legislators, and all Michigan Counties.<br />

By Commissioner Horn: That the Resolution be adopted. The Chair<br />

asked for a show of hands. Resolution approved unanimously.<br />

PROCLAMATIONS<br />

Chairman Fish designated the week of April 2-8, <strong>2001</strong> as Public<br />

Health Week in the <strong>County</strong> of <strong>Saginaw</strong>.<br />

PROCLAMATION<br />

WHEREAS, The health of the citizens of <strong>Saginaw</strong> <strong>County</strong> is a major<br />

concern of the <strong>Saginaw</strong> <strong>County</strong> Board of Commissioners and the<br />

<strong>Saginaw</strong> <strong>County</strong> Board of Public Health; and,<br />

WHEREAS, The <strong>Saginaw</strong> <strong>County</strong> Department of Public Health provides<br />

leadership in serving the health needs of the citizens of <strong>Saginaw</strong><br />

<strong>County</strong> through innovative, unique and meaningful services; and,<br />

WHEREAS, The citizens of <strong>Saginaw</strong> <strong>County</strong> are served through a<br />

variety of programs and have benefited through increased health<br />

awareness and the continuing and expanding preventive activities<br />

of the <strong>Saginaw</strong> <strong>County</strong> Department of Public Health.<br />

NOW, THEREFORE, I Robert L. Fish, Chair of the <strong>Saginaw</strong> <strong>County</strong><br />

Board of Commissioners do hereby proclaim the week of April 2 - 8,<br />

<strong>2001</strong> as: PUBLIC HEALTH WEEK in the <strong>County</strong> of <strong>Saginaw</strong>, Michigan in<br />

recognition of the important role played by the <strong>Saginaw</strong> <strong>County</strong><br />

Department of Public Health in serving all of our citizens and to<br />

encourage the citizens of this <strong>County</strong> to become more aware of the<br />

many services available to them through the <strong>Saginaw</strong> <strong>County</strong><br />

Department of Public Health.<br />

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the<br />

seal of the <strong>County</strong> of <strong>Saginaw</strong> to be affixed this 27th day of March<br />

in the year of Our Lord two thousand and one.<br />
