AFL-CI0, to remember victims of workplace injuries and<br />

disease;<br />

.By calling for a final ergonomics standard, an end to<br />

employee and congressional attacks on workers' safety and<br />

health and workers' rights, the right of workers to organize<br />

and join unions without employer interference or<br />

intimidation, stronger safety and health protection and<br />

enforcement, coverage for all workers under the job safety<br />

law, stronger whistle-blower protection for workers who<br />

report job hazards and injuries, fair and timely compensation<br />

for injured workers, the right of workers and unions to speak<br />

out for strong job safety laws and to have a full voice in<br />

the legislative and political process; and,<br />

.By rededicating ourselves to improve safety and health in<br />

every American work place on the Anniversary of the<br />

Occupation Safety & Health Safety Act.<br />

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, I Robert L. Fish, Chairman of the<br />

<strong>Saginaw</strong> <strong>County</strong> Board of Commissioners, do hereby proclaim April<br />

28, <strong>2001</strong> as: "WORKERS' MEMORIAL DAY" in the <strong>County</strong> of <strong>Saginaw</strong> in<br />

recognition of workers killed, injured and disabled on the job.<br />

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the<br />

seal of the <strong>County</strong> of <strong>Saginaw</strong> to be affixed this 24th day of April<br />

in the year of our Lord, Two Thousand and One.<br />

PROCLAMATION<br />

WHEREAS, The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program has<br />

operates since 1975 to provide local governments with the<br />

resources required to meet the needs of persons of love and<br />

moderate income, and CDBG funds are used by thousands of<br />

neighborhood based non-profit organizations throughout the nation<br />

to address pressing neighborhood and human service needs; and,<br />

WHEREAS, The Community Development Block Grant Program has had a<br />

significant impact on our local economies through job creation and<br />

retention, physical redevelopment and improved local tax bases;<br />

and,<br />

WHEREAS, <strong>Saginaw</strong> <strong>County</strong> through it's Housing Rehabilitation<br />

Program has clearly demonstrated the capacity to administer and<br />

customize the CDBG program to identify and resolve pressing local<br />

problems such as affordable housing, housing rehabilitation,<br />

neighborhood and human service needs, job creation and retention<br />

and physical redevelopment of existing housing stock.<br />

NOW, THEREFORE, I Robert L. Fish, Chair of the <strong>Saginaw</strong> <strong>County</strong><br />

Board of Commissioners do hereby proclaim May 14 - 18, <strong>2001</strong> as:<br />

SAGINAW COUNTY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT WEEK and May 16, <strong>2001</strong> as:<br />

SAGINAW COUNTY HOUSING, ECONOMIC AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DAY in<br />

the <strong>County</strong> of <strong>Saginaw</strong> and call upon all citizens to join us in<br />
