1)Grandparent Program: The position of Outreach / Education<br />

Specialist P03 be deleted and an additional position of<br />

Caseworker P03 created.<br />

2)Kitchen Staff reorganization: The positions of Cook, Food<br />

Service Coordinator and Mobile Meals Coordinator be referred<br />

to the Labor Relations Subcommittee for factoring evaluation.<br />

(see 9-18-4.2)<br />

Further, that the proper <strong>County</strong> Officials be authorized and<br />

directed to make the necessary changes to the personnel complement<br />

and amend the budget accordingly.<br />

FROM: COMMITTEE ON APPROPRIATIONS -- 4.1 SEPTEMBER 18, <strong>2001</strong><br />

The MERS <strong>2001</strong> Annual Meeting of participating municipalities will<br />

be held in Dearborn, MI, September 26 - 28. In accordance with<br />

the provisions of Act 427, P.A. 1984, the Michigan Employees<br />

Retirement Act, the governing body of each participating<br />

municipality must certify to the MERS Board an officer and<br />

employee delegate and alternate to represent them at the meeting.<br />

The officer delegate and alternate are selected by the governing<br />

body of the participating municipality. The employee delegate and<br />

alternate are elected by employee members of the Retirement<br />

System. In communication no. 9-18-15, Retirement Administrator Amy<br />

Deford reports that there were no nominations for an employee<br />

delegate this year.<br />

It is the recommendation of your Labor Relations Subcommittee that<br />

Amy Deford be appointed as the Officer Delegate and Michael<br />

Thompson, Administration Director as the Officer Alternate;<br />

further, that the proper <strong>County</strong> officials certify the officer<br />

delegate and alternate to represent <strong>Saginaw</strong> <strong>County</strong> at the MERS<br />

Annual Meeting with expenses paid by the Retirement Fund.<br />
