The <strong>Saginaw</strong> <strong>County</strong> Board of Commissioners join the community in<br />

congratulating the Swan Valley High School Vikings for capturing<br />

the <strong>2001</strong> Division II State Championship Baseball Title; and for<br />

being named the Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Association<br />

Division II all-state team. We proudly recognize all the young men<br />

on the Vikings team, as well as the coaches, parents, teachers,<br />

school administrators and student body who supported the team<br />

throughout its winning season. The Vikings 4 to 1 victory over<br />

Wyoming Park on June 16, <strong>2001</strong> brought home the first State title<br />

for a boys team in the twenty-nine year history of Swan Valley<br />

High School.<br />

RESOLUTION<br />

In Memory of<br />

JAMES ARTHUR WOODS<br />

WHEREAS, God, in divine wisdom, has called from labor on this<br />

earth, a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle<br />

and friend, who will be dearly missed; and,<br />

WHEREAS, As a Buena Vista Township Trustee for the past 13 years,<br />

James was a dedicated public servant who was attuned to the needs<br />

of the people. He was committed, well respected and had a love<br />

for both young and old alike. The Psalmist described him well in<br />

Psalms 37:23, "The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord,<br />

and he delighteth in his way"; and,<br />

WHEREAS, Although his death leaves a void that can never be<br />

filled, we rejoice at his home-going. May the passing of James<br />

Woods remind us that we too, must pass this way. In James' memory,<br />

let us strive to do what we can to make this world a better place<br />

to live. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the <strong>Saginaw</strong> <strong>County</strong><br />

Board of Commissioners does hereby express our heartfelt sympathy<br />

to the family and friends of Mr. James Arthur Woods, and relay to<br />

you that you are in our prayers.<br />

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be<br />

transmitted to the bereaved family.<br />
