Board of Commissioners June 26, <strong>2001</strong><br />

WHEREAS, The goals and objectives of the Women's Progressive Club<br />

are the moral and spiritual uplifting of humanity through<br />

services, education and human needs by reaching out and reaching<br />

back.<br />

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the <strong>Saginaw</strong> <strong>County</strong> Board of<br />

Commissioners is very pleased to acknowledge the 106th Anniversary<br />

and 53rd Biennial Convention of the Michigan State Association of<br />

Colored Woman, Inc. We commend the many individuals who have,<br />

through the years, participated in its success. We are confident<br />

the organization will continue to prosper in the years to come.<br />

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this expression of recognition be<br />

spread upon the minutes of the June 26, <strong>2001</strong> meeting as a<br />

permanent record and duly inscribed upon parchment and presented<br />

to them.<br />

RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION<br />

Dr. Patricia L. Fletcher<br />

Theme: Club Women Entering the Millennium<br />

with Faith, Peace, Love and Unity<br />

Proverbs 31:31 says, "Give her the reward she has earned,<br />

and let her works bring her praise at the city gate"<br />

WHEREAS, On Saturday, June 23, <strong>2001</strong> at the Best Western Hotel in<br />

<strong>Saginaw</strong>, Michigan, the Women's Progressive Club will host the<br />

106th Anniversary and 53rd Biennial Convention for the Michigan<br />

State Association of Colored Women, Inc.; and,<br />

WHEREAS, This year the Progressive Club would like to honor Dr.<br />

Patricia L. Fletcher, the National President of the National<br />

Association of Colored Women's Club, Inc.; and,<br />

WHEREAS, Patricia was born and raised in Jefferson <strong>County</strong>, Ohio<br />

and is the second child in a family of eleven children. She and<br />

her husband, Lawrence reside in Steubenville, Ohio and are the<br />

proud parents of Dr. Anthony Fletcher and grandparents to Desiree;<br />

and,<br />

WHEREAS, Mrs. Fletcher can best be described as a dedicated<br />

Christian Woman. She is a member of numerous organizations,<br />

clubs, and civic groups and holds honors and awards from just<br />

about every group and entity that she has been associated with;<br />

and,<br />

WHEREAS, Patricia carries a keen sense of responsibility to her<br />

community and truly has made education a way of life. The efforts<br />

and strength of this remarkable individual have touched so many<br />

people and the members of the <strong>Saginaw</strong> <strong>County</strong> Board of<br />

Commissioners are proud to acknowledge her untiring faithfulness.<br />

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the <strong>Saginaw</strong> <strong>County</strong> Board of<br />

Commissioners does hereby welcome Mrs. Patricia Fletcher and join<br />
