Non-Economic Items<br />

1. Union will provide for electronic funds deposit of union<br />

dues if such payment method is required by <strong>County</strong>.<br />

2. All references to "day" in Agreement changed to "calendar<br />

day".<br />

3. Holidays: "Snow Day" language changed to recognize the<br />

<strong>County</strong>'s refusal to designate "snow days".<br />

4. Funeral leave changed to a "no-fault" policy wherein 30<br />

hours additional PTO is loaded into the bank of anyone<br />

experiencing the death of one of the following relations:<br />

mother, father, sister, brother, spouse, child, step-child,<br />

legal guardian, parent-in-law, grandparents, grandchildren,<br />

current step-parents, and brother/sister of spouse.<br />

5. Drug testing language changed to state that all procedures<br />

shall follow Sheriff Department policy.<br />

FROM: COMMITTEE ON APPROPRIATIONS -- 4.2 JANUARY 23, <strong>2001</strong><br />

Your Labor Relations Subcommittee herewith submits the Agreement<br />

between the <strong>County</strong> of <strong>Saginaw</strong>, <strong>Saginaw</strong> <strong>County</strong> Animal Control and<br />

Teamster Local No. 486 representing Animal Control Road and<br />

Shelter Officers. The contract covers a three year, nine month<br />

period<br />

beginning January 1, <strong>2001</strong> to September 30, 2004. A summary of the<br />

main provisions is set forth below:<br />

Economic Benefits<br />

1.Wages: The following salary increases apply: 1/1/<strong>2001</strong>: 2.5%<br />

with a market adjustment of 2.5% for a total of 5%;<br />

10/1/<strong>2001</strong>: 2.5% with a market adjustment of 1.5% for a total<br />

of 4%; 10/1/2002: 2.5%; 10/1/2003: 2.5%.<br />

2.Longevity bonus: No increase in the current longevity bonus of<br />

$70 per year.<br />

3.Night call: Union and management agree to reopen Article 16,<br />

Section 4, if night calling screening service is terminated.<br />

Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and News Year's Day will be<br />

treated as standby days with 2 hours received for opening<br />

and 2 hours received for closing the shelter at time and one<br />

half. An officer will be paid time and one half for any<br />

callout received during the day, and all rules governing<br />

night call pay will apply.<br />

4.PTO accrual: Accumulation of PTO shall be limited to 1,000<br />

hours effective September 30, <strong>2001</strong>, 800 hours effective<br />
