2003.<br />

5.PTO cashout: Effective 1/1/<strong>2001</strong>, upon termination, an employee<br />

may cash in up to 600 hours maximum (down from 1200 hours)<br />

PTO time, at 50% value.<br />

6.PTO/generic service purchase or cash payout: Eligible employees<br />

whose PTO banks exceed 120 hours will also be offered a one<br />

time opportunity to purchase generic service time with the<br />

county paying for 20% of the cost of that time. Eligible<br />

employees whose bank exceeds 600 hours as of 9/30/00 will be<br />

given a one time opportunity to apply for a cash payment of<br />

up to 50% of the unused accumulated PTO up to a maximum of<br />

600 hours for an actual payoff of 300. The PTO bank may not<br />

be reduced below 120 hours.<br />

7.Health insurance: Employees can now select PPO-1 as an option.<br />

Employee copays for PPO-1 will increase from 10% to 20%<br />

percent and from 5% to 10% for PPO-2. Employees now also<br />

have the option of receiving $75.00 a month in lieu of<br />

insurance.<br />

8.Retiree health: Employee co-pays for retiree health will<br />

increase 5% to 10% after 20 years.<br />

9.Dental insurance: Maximum benefit was increased to $1,500 from<br />

$1,000.<br />

10.Retiree group life insurance: Benefit increased from $2,000 to<br />

$4,000.<br />

11.Vision insurance: Added for employees with the coverage<br />

provided the same as for non-union employees.<br />

12.Retirement - MERS: Retirement at age 50 with 25 years of<br />

service was added.<br />

Non-Economic Items<br />

1.Arbitration and grievance procedure: Any costs associated with<br />

filing for arbitration will now be borne by the filing<br />

party.<br />

2.Funeral Leave: In the event of the death in an employee's close<br />

or immediate family, 24 hours of PTO time will be added to<br />

the employee's bank of time.<br />

3.Disability: The <strong>County</strong>'s light duty program was added.<br />

4.Residency requirement: The residency requirement was deleted.<br />

5.Drug and alcohol procedures: Minimum level for discipline in<br />

case of positive alcohol test changed from .10 to .03. Last<br />

chance agreement will be utilized at .02.<br />
