Board of Commissioners October 16, <strong>2001</strong><br />

WHEREAS, Dr. Shaheen is married to Patricia Anne Ramah Shaheen,<br />

and they are the parents of three children, Samuel Shaheen,<br />

Sabrina Asher and Peter Shaheen.<br />

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the <strong>Saginaw</strong> <strong>County</strong> Board of<br />

Commissioners does hereby join the <strong>Saginaw</strong> African American &<br />

Minority Business Association in acknowledging Dr. Samuel H.<br />

Shaheen for his many contributions to the <strong>Saginaw</strong> <strong>County</strong><br />

community. We wish him continued success in all his future<br />

endeavors.<br />

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this expression of recognition be<br />

spread upon the minutes of the October 16, <strong>2001</strong> meeting as a<br />

permanent record and duly inscribed upon parchment and presented<br />

to him.<br />

RESOLUTION OF RECOGNITION<br />

Presented To:<br />

DR. SAMUEL J. SHAHEEN<br />

WHEREAS, This afternoon, Friday, October 19, <strong>2001</strong>, we are gathered<br />

here at the <strong>County</strong> Event Center for the 9th Annual Minority<br />

Business Month Luncheon. The theme is: "The Foresight of Doing<br />

Business"; and,<br />

WHEREAS, It affords us great pleasure to honor one of the keynote<br />

speakers for this occasion, Dr. Samuel J. Shaheen, esteemed<br />

physician and entrepreneur; and,<br />

WHEREAS, Dr. Shaheen, is a graduate of Northwestern University and<br />

the University of Michigan School of Medicine. His professional<br />

affiliates include: the American Board of Surgery, the American<br />

Medical Association, and the Michigan State Medical Society; and,<br />

WHEREAS, Dr. Shaheen has been honored for his work in general<br />

surgery, neurology, osteopathic surgery, obstetrics and<br />

gynecology, vascular surgery and emergency medicine. He is the<br />

recipient of several medical awards including the Northwestern<br />

Memorial Chief Resident Research Award and Outstanding Resident<br />

Educator; and,<br />

WHEREAS, Dr. Shaheen, joins the ranks of his father, Dr. Samuel H.<br />

Shaheen as a superstar in building, remodeling and land<br />

development.<br />

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the <strong>Saginaw</strong> <strong>County</strong> Board of<br />

Commissioners does hereby join the <strong>Saginaw</strong> African American &<br />

Minority Business Association in acknowledging Dr. Samuel J.<br />

Shaheen for his many contributions to the <strong>Saginaw</strong> <strong>County</strong><br />
