FROM: COMMITTEE ON HUMAN SERVICES -- 3.5 SEPTEMBER 18, <strong>2001</strong><br />

Your committee considered communication no. 9-18-21 from Marc A.<br />

McGill, Controller/CAO asking the Board to amend the 2002 <strong>County</strong><br />

Operating Budget to reflect the actual figures received from the<br />

Michigan Department of Treasury (9-18-1) for the state-wide liquor<br />

and cigarette taxes. The original figures included in the 2002<br />

Budget were estimates.<br />

The amounts reflected in the correspondence from the State result<br />

in a net decrease in revenue of $24,094. These adjustments will<br />

mainly affect the appropriation to the Health Department budget.<br />

It is the recommendation of your committee that the proper <strong>County</strong><br />

Officials be authorized and directed to amend the 2002 <strong>County</strong><br />

Operating Budget, paragraph nos. 13, 15 and 16 to reflect the<br />

actual amount of state-wide liquor and cigarette taxes<br />

communicated to us by the State. (new pages were inserted in<br />

Resolution A)<br />

FROM: COMMITTEE ON HUMAN SERVICES -- 3.6 SEPTEMBER 18, <strong>2001</strong><br />

Your committee has considered communication no. 9-18-14 from Karen<br />

Courneya, Director, <strong>Saginaw</strong> <strong>County</strong> Commission on Aging asking for<br />

certain staff changes in the Grandparent Program and Kitchen to<br />

better reflect current duties and improve services.<br />

We met with Ms. Courneya who anticipated that the requested<br />

changes will offset each other with little or no increase in the<br />

budget. Any additional costs will be absorbed in the COA 2002<br />

budget.<br />
