RESOLUTION OF RECOGNITION<br />

Presented To:<br />

MRS. BLANCHE E. WILLIAMS<br />

"I Can Do All Things Through Christ Who Strengthens Me."<br />

Philippians 4:13<br />

WHEREAS, On Saturday, November 10, <strong>2001</strong> at 11:00 a.m., the 21st<br />

Century Women’s Club of <strong>Saginaw</strong>, a Chapter of the Michigan State<br />

Association and National Association of Colored Women’s Club, Inc.<br />

will present its Annual Scholarship & Honors Luncheon at the<br />

<strong>Saginaw</strong> Plaza Hotel; and,<br />

WHEREAS, The theme is, “Trusting in the Lord,” Proverbs 3:5. The<br />

Club Motto is “Lifting As We Climb, Caring and Sharing As We Go.”<br />

Dr. Betty B. Jones is the speaker for this occasion; and,<br />

WHEREAS, This year, Mrs. Blanche Williams is the recipient of the<br />

“Rosa L. Gragg Club Woman of the Year.” Blanche is a native of New<br />

Mexico and is the daughter of Mrs. Willie Neal and the late Mr.<br />

Leslie Neal. She is a product of the <strong>Saginaw</strong> Public School System<br />

and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Religious Education from<br />

United Theological Seminary and Bible College in Flint, Michigan;<br />

and,<br />

WHEREAS, Mrs. Williams is married to Mr. Aaron Williams. They are<br />

the proud parents of three children, Megale A. Williams, Aaron P.<br />

Williams, Dexter T. Williams, a nephew, Leslie Neal III, and a<br />

grandson, Myleak H. Williams; and,<br />

WHEREAS, Blanche, a confessed Christian, is a member of New Life<br />

Baptist Church where she serves as Sunday School Teacher, member<br />

of the Prayer Ministry, Overseer of the Senior Ministry, and as a<br />

past Choir member. She serves as Chaplain of the 21st Century<br />

Women’s Club; and,<br />

WHEREAS, Mrs. Williams’ hobbies are sewing and bowling. Her life<br />

long dreams are to receive a Master’s Degree in Religious<br />

Education, write a book and teach in the National Baptist<br />

Convention, USA, Inc.<br />

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the <strong>Saginaw</strong> <strong>County</strong> Board of<br />

Commissioners does hereby join with the 21st Century Women’s Club<br />

in honoring Mrs. Blanche E. Williams as this year’s “Rosa L. Gragg<br />

Club Woman of the Year,” for her loyal and dedicated service to<br />

the 21st Century Club, as well as, the <strong>Saginaw</strong> <strong>County</strong> community.<br />

We wish her continued blessings and success in all her future<br />

endeavors.<br />
