PRESENT --- Raymond F. Bartels, Thomas A. Basil, Robert D. Blaine,<br />

Graham, Kenneth B. Horn, Richard F. Mallette, Michael P. O'Hare,<br />

Commissioner O'Hare offered the following resolution and moved its<br />

adoption. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Graham.<br />

It is resolved by the <strong>Saginaw</strong> <strong>County</strong> Board of Commissioners<br />

to support and agree with the attached Order to Prohibit Weapons<br />

and Conduct Searches issued by the <strong>Saginaw</strong> <strong>County</strong> Circuit Court,<br />

<strong>Saginaw</strong> <strong>County</strong> Circuit Court Family Division, and the <strong>Saginaw</strong><br />

<strong>County</strong> Probate Court, and adopt that Order as part of the Resolution;<br />

It is further resolved that the <strong>Saginaw</strong> <strong>County</strong> Board of<br />

Commissioners by the power inherent in the position, order that<br />

weapons of any type are prohibited in any <strong>Saginaw</strong> <strong>County</strong><br />

Governmental building, complex, annex and all parts that may be<br />

connected to such facilities. The only exceptions to this<br />

Resolution and Order are law enforcement personnel who are on duty<br />

or are in the performance of any official duty connected with<br />

their employment;<br />

It is further resolved that signs shall be posted outside all<br />

buildings announcing that, "All weapons are prohibited from this<br />

facility. All persons and their parcels entering the building and<br />

courtrooms are subject to a search for weapons and restricted<br />

items as a condition of entry;"<br />

It is further resolved that the safety and security of all<br />

citizens, employers, employees and users of the <strong>Saginaw</strong> <strong>County</strong><br />

governmental services will be served by providing for their safety<br />

and security in <strong>County</strong> facilities.<br />
