In 2010 77.4% of available 55.6 thousand accommodationswere in private sector (private accommodations). The sameyear an average ratio of accommodations load was during a year wasonly 18.5%, but in August an average ratio reached 87%. The scope ofservice equals 376.3 mln Gel in 2010 that is 69.8% more than in 2009.introduction of such big corporates that significantly increased thenumber of people employed not only in big hotel and restaurant business,but in small private sector as well as sustainable development of tourismbusiness corresponding to the proper and relevant government policy todevelop tourism sector in Adjara and support the dynamics of the privatetourism sector further require proper, relevant and well-designed educationalpolicy in hospitality management provided by VET institutions.As it can be clearly seen from Table 3 below provided by the Touristdepartment of Adjara the number of tourists increased pointedly. Thetotal number of visitors staying in private accommodations equals1614144 persons in 2010 that is 6.5 as high as the same data in 2004.In order to make the economic reforms sustainable, it is indisputablethat qualified staff meeting new reality should be ensured.
