the economic viability of the deposit. The estimate is based on detailed and reliableexploration, sampling and testing information gathered through appropriate techniquesfrom locations such as outcrops, trenches, pits, workings and drillholes that are spacedclosely enough to confirm both geological and grade continuity.Indicated Mineral Resource: that part of a Mineral Resource for which quantity, gradeor quality, densities, shape and physical characteristics can be estimated with a levelof confidence sufficient to allow the appropriate application of technical and economicparameters, to support mine planning and evaluation of the economic viability of thedeposit. The estimate is based on detailed and reliable exploration and testinginformation gathered through appropriate techniques from locations such as outcrops, trenches, pits, workings and drillholes that are spaced closely enough for geologicaland grade continuity to be reasonably assumed.Inferred Mineral Resource: that part of a Mineral Resource for which quantity andgrade or quality can be estimated on the basis of geological evidence and limitedsampling and reasonably assumed, but not verified, geological and grade continuity. The estimate is based on limited information and sampling gathered throughappropriate techniques from locations such as outcrops, trenches, pits, workings anddrillholes. In order to identify those blocks in the block model that could reasonably be consideredas a mineral resource, the block model was filtered by a cut-off grade of 5 g/t AuEq.The blocks occurring above 5 g/t AuEq were classified as Measured, Indicated orInferred.Classification was applied based on geological confidence, data quality and gradevariability. Areas classified as Measured Resources (“Rescat 1”) are within the wellinformed portion of the West Zone where the resource is informed by 5 m by 5 m or 5 mby 10 m spaced drilling. Areas classified as Indicated Resources (“Rescat 2”) areinformed by 20 m by 20 m to 20 m by 40 m drilling within the West Zone and VOK. Theremainder of the mineral resource is classified as Inferred Resources (“Rescat 3”) wherethere is some drilling information and the blocks lie within the mineralized interpretation. With respect to some of the areas in the high-grade zones at VOK that have drill spacingnearing that of the Measured Resource of West Zone, Snowden has elected to retain theIndicated Resource classification until underground sampling has demonstrated a highlevel of confidence in these estimates. This is because of the high-grade nature of themineralization.Figure 14.8 and Figure 14.9 illustrate example sections through the main areas ofmineralization, coloured by resource classification (or “Rescat”) for VOK and West Zone, respectively.Pretium Resources Inc. 14-20 1291990200-REP-R0012-02Feasibility Study and Technical Report on the BrucejackProject, Stewart, BC
