consultation measures will comply with federal <strong>and</strong> provincial regulations, best practices,<strong>and</strong> internal company policies.CONSULTATION PROGRAMCommunity engagement <strong>and</strong> consultation are fundamental to the success of theproposed Project. Since 2011, consultation has been ongoing with the Nisga’a Nation,Tahltan Nation, Skii km Lax Ha, as well as other First Nations, <strong>and</strong> will continue to takeplace. <strong>Pretivm</strong> will participate in all BC Environmental Assessment Office (EAO) technicalworking group meetings, which are comprised of government agencies, First Nations, <strong>and</strong>Nisga’a Nation. <strong>Pretivm</strong> has <strong>and</strong> will continue to undertake engagement <strong>and</strong>consultation activities with government agencies (provincial, federal, <strong>and</strong> local), FirstNations, <strong>and</strong> the Nisga’a Nation, as well as the public <strong>and</strong> other interested parties duringthe EA process as well as each phase of the Project lifecycle. As part of the BC EAprocess, consultation plans for both Nisga’a Nation <strong>and</strong> First Nations will be defined <strong>and</strong>developed for the EA pre-application <strong>and</strong> post-application periods. Aboriginal, public, <strong>and</strong>government consultation efforts will include a variety of engagement methods includingprivate meetings, community meetings <strong>and</strong> open houses, information distributionactivities (i.e. communications <strong>and</strong> outreach materials), <strong>and</strong> site tours.Since 2011, <strong>Pretivm</strong> has initiated project <strong>and</strong> company introductions, a series of followupmeetings, <strong>and</strong> regularly disseminated relevant information with the potentiallyaffected Nisga’a nation <strong>and</strong> First Nation groups. Engagement, information sharing, <strong>and</strong>consultation will continue during the planning <strong>and</strong> regulatory review as well as theconstruction, operations, <strong>and</strong> closure phases. A consultation record has been developed,which is being maintained <strong>and</strong> reviewed to enable <strong>and</strong> strengthen ongoing relationshipbuilding <strong>and</strong> issue tracking.CONSULTATION GROUPSNisga’a Nation <strong>and</strong> First Nations<strong>Pretivm</strong> has established a relationship <strong>and</strong> will continue to engage <strong>and</strong> consult withNisga’a Nation <strong>and</strong> First Nations, as identified by the provincial government’s Section 11Order as well as the Metis Nation of BC as indicated in the federal government’senvironmental impact statement (EIS) guidelines. <strong>Pretivm</strong> has also providedopportunities for First Nations employment during exploration <strong>and</strong> environmentalbaseline studies through Tsetsaut Ventures Ltd., a First Nations-owned contractingcompany. Ongoing consultation efforts will aim to engage both the leadership <strong>and</strong>community membership <strong>and</strong> attempt to resolve potential issues <strong>and</strong> concerns as theyarise. No substantive issues have been raised to date regarding the Project.Government<strong>Pretivm</strong> will engage <strong>and</strong> collaborate with the federal, provincial, regional, <strong>and</strong> municipalgovernment agencies <strong>and</strong> representatives as required with respect to topics such as:l<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> resource management, protected areas, official community plans (OCPs),environmental <strong>and</strong> social baseline studies, <strong>and</strong> effects assessments. <strong>Pretivm</strong> will alsoPretium Resources Inc. 20-3 1291990200-REP-R0012-02<strong>Feasibility</strong> <strong>Study</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Technical</strong> <strong>Report</strong> on the BrucejackProject, Stewart, BC
