The fisheries resources and fish habitat of potentially affected rivers and their tributarieswere assessed from 2010 to 2012 as part of the baseline program. Results from twoseasons of sampling have shown that fish do not occur in Brucejack Lake. Fish are alsoabsent downstream of Brucejack Lake in all waterbodies, including Sulphurets Creek, upstream of a barrier located 300 m upstream of the confluence of Sulphurets Creek andthe Unuk River. Additional barriers have been identified in many other streams in thearea, including all but the Bowser River crossing on the proposed transmission line route.VISUAL QUALITY AND AESTHETICSThe Project is located in a relatively remote and undisturbed area; the area ischaracterized by rugged mountains, glaciers, forests, and rivers. The nearest major roadis Highway 37. The controlled-access Eskay Creek Mine Road terminates approximately25 km north of the proposed adit and mill. The Granduc Access Road is used by mineralexploration traffic and tourists during the summer accessing the viewpoint to the SalmonGlacier. The Granduc Access Road terminates at the Granduc staging area, approximately 20 km south of the Project site. The mine will be located in an isolatedarea that is not visible from either the Eskay Creek Mine Road or Highway 37. Thesouthern portion of the transmission line will roughly parallel the Granduc Access Road, but will not interfere with viewscapes of the Salmon Glacier from the currently usedviewpoint of the glacier along the Granduc Access Road.ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEMSPretivm will develop and implement a comprehensive Environmental ManagementSystem (EMS) for the construction, operation, and closure phases of the Project. TheEMS will comprise a series of written plans outlining the scope of environmentalmanagement to ensure compliance with both regulatory requirements and Pretivm’senvironmental policy.Environmental management and mitigation measures will be provided for each of thefollowing areas:• air emissions and fugitive dust• water management• tailings and waste rock• diesel and tailings pipelines• concentrate load out• ARD/ML containment• materials management• erosion control and sediment• spill contingency and emergency response• fish and fish habitatPretium Resources Inc. 20-8 1291990200-REP-R0012-02Feasibility Study and Technical Report on the BrucejackProject, Stewart, BC
