5.0 ACCESSIBILITY, CLIMATE, LOCALRESOURCES, INFRASTRUCTURE ANDPHYSIOGRAPHYInformation in this section has been excerpted <strong>and</strong> updated from Olssen <strong>and</strong> Jones(2012c). Olssen <strong>and</strong> Jones (2012a, b <strong>and</strong> c) excerpted <strong>and</strong> updated the information forthis section in its report from Ghaffari et al. (2012).5.1 ACCESSIBILITYThe Property is located in the Boundary Range of the Coast Mountain Physiographic Belt,along the western margin of the Intermontane Tectonic Belt. The terrain is generallysteep with local reliefs of 1,000 m from valleys occupied by receding glaciers, to ridges atelevations of 1,200 masl. Elevations within the Property area range from 1,366 maslalong Brucejack Lake to 1,650 masl at the Bridge Zone. However, within several areas ofthe Property, the relief is relatively low to moderate.The Property area is easily accessible with the use of a chartered helicopter from thetown of Stewart, or seasonally from the settlement of Bell II. The flight time from Stewartis approximately 30 minutes <strong>and</strong> slightly less from Bell II; however, Stewart has theadvantage of having an established year-round helicopter base. <strong>Pretivm</strong> has completedconstruction of its 74 km access road that links the Brucejack Camp to Highway 37 viathe Knipple Glacier, Bowser Camp, Scott Creek Camp, <strong>and</strong> Wildfire Camp (Figure 5.1).Equipment, fuel, <strong>and</strong> camp provisions are trucked to a staging area on the KnippleGlacier (at km 60), before being taken over the glacier to the Brucejack camp. Personnelare driven to the Knipple Glacier staging area from the Wildfire Camp at Highway 37,before being transported by tracked vehicle to the Brucejack camp over the glacier.
