The underground maintenance and service bayarea will have a dedicated compressor permanently installed, with air lines from the airreceiver routed to convenient locations in the area.In addition to the permanent compressors, several smaller, portable compressors will beavailable.All mobile drilling equipment, including jumbos, long hole drills, bolters and cable bolterswill be equipped with on board compressors. To supply service water to the higher-working levels, two lift stations will be required. Twowater holding tanks will be positioned at the 1,390 and 1,480 levels. The 1,390 Leveltank will be fed by the main header pressure in the decline ramp. An automated valvewill control the tank level and a booster pump will feed working levels from the 1,390Level up to the 1,480 Level. A tank positioned on the 1,480 Level will supply anotherbooster pump to feed service water to the higher levels in the same fashion. Figure16.25 is a schematic of the main water distribution system.Figure 16.25Mine Water Distribution Schematic16.9.6 FUELING AND LUBRICATIONA fuel bay area will be located on the 1,320 infrastructure level between two automaticfire doors, as shown in Figure 16.26. The doors will be connected to a fire detectionsystem that will close the doors if a fire is detected. A foam fire suppression system willbe located inside the fuel bay area and will consist of a storage tank, piping, valving,detectors, and alarms.The fuel bay area will include a main drift and three bays. A 20,000 L fuel storage tankand a fuel delivery pumping system will be located in one of the bays located inside thefuel bay area.The fuel storage tank will be filled from a surface storage tank via a dedicated fuel pipeline. A sump pit in another of the side bays will contain a sump pump and removablegrating cover.
