Max. acquisition time: The maximum acquisition time is a stop criterion for data acquisition for the
selected coincidence group.
Acquisition stops when one of the two criteria is fulfilled.
Note: it is possible to have other stop criteria defined in a Moments object – please
see section 5.14.4.
LDA 1, 2, .. properties: Range and gain
Center velocity The center velocity is used to set the center of the required velocity range. It
should be set according to the estimated mean velocity in the flow. You can
type a value or select one from the list. If you type a value, the software will
select the nearest possible value of the processor.
The unit can be m/s, ft/s or ft/min. This, and the format of the figures, is
specified from the Tools - Options – Data formats menu. Under the list of
data types, a check box Display velocity as frequency must be checked if
the Doppler frequency should be shown instead of velocity.
Velocity span The velocity span is the width of the velocity range around the center
velocity. Units are the same as for the center velocity. Velocity span should
be set according to the expected range of fluctuations in flow velocity. If in
doubt, set a large velocity span to begin width, define a histogram and make
an acquisition. Zoom in to proper center velocity and velocity span
afterwards.
Note Rules for 2D or 3D coincidence measurements:
PDA 1, 2 properties: Range and gain
ratio between the velocity span of the channels: max. 2,
ratio between the Max. record length of the channels: max. 2
If these rules are not respected, delays in the electronics will differ too much
to obtain reliable coincidence results
Click on the PDA2,3,4 icon in the BSA Application window to see the
user-controllable PDA properties in the property editor.
