8.4.2 57G15 Traverse<br />

there are the following possibilities:<br />

Possible reason Remedy<br />

Incorrect type of traverse specified Close <strong>BSA</strong> <strong>Flow</strong> <strong>Software</strong>, open the<br />

Dantec Device Configuration <strong>and</strong><br />

specify the correct type of traverse<br />

system.<br />

Open <strong>BSA</strong> <strong>Flow</strong> <strong>Software</strong> again.<br />

The traverse controller is connected<br />

to another COM port of the PC than<br />

specified in the traverse properties<br />

The Traverse server connection is<br />

not established<br />

Right-click on the traverse server<br />

icon <strong>and</strong> select status. If the correct<br />

COM port has been selected, a<br />

message similar to the one shown<br />

below should appear<br />

Right mouse click the <strong>BSA</strong> F/P<br />

Application icon in the project<br />

explorer. Select Connections from<br />

the drop down list, select the<br />

Traverse Server tab <strong>and</strong> click the<br />

Connect button.<br />

Traverse Channel is disabled Please refer to chapter 5.6.1 about<br />

“Lightweight traverse properties”<br />

When the traverse set-up is correct, the status dialog should look like this:<br />

Please check that:<br />

1. the Controller is on<br />

2. the GPIB cable is connected from the 57G15 Traverse interface to the<br />

GPIB interface in the PC<br />

If there is no Traverse server icon in the lower right h<strong>and</strong> corner of the<br />

screen, you must first start it by going to the Tools menu, selecting Plug-Ins<br />

<strong>and</strong> Traverse server.<br />
