Histograms can be exported either as a graph or as data file. positions The Export object exports to multiple files e.g. one per position, and this is done on the fly. The exported files will be available after the end of each measurement point. 5.9.1 Base file path All files will be by default exported into the Export folder location. This location can globally be set using the Tools Folders dialog. Modifying the name, the location where to export the file and the file type is done by clicking on the Base File Path in the export object properties. A dialog shown in Figure 5-43 appears. If multiple positions are exported the position index is appended to the name. The index counter supports up to 1.000.000 indices. If the Base file name is "Pipe Flow (1)", where "(1)" indicates the instance number, and 3 positions are exported in text (txt) format the following export files will be generated: Pipe Flow (1).000001.txt, Pipe Flow (1).000002.txt, and Pipe Flow (1).000003.txt The file extension of the exported files depends on the type of export filter used. Please refer to previous table. Save in Modifying the file path is done by clicking on the Save in menu. Save as type Modifying the file format is done by selecting the Save as type menu. Save as type The Export Object will use the export filters installed on the system. Please note that the export filters can be explicitly selected during installation. The following list gives a summary of the export filters The property Filter displays the format of the exported file as chosen in the File Export Data files dialog: • TecPlot® (*.dat): includes header information required for import into TecPlot®. If data contain x, y and z coordinates, the data will be organized in Zones. Please consult the TecPlot® documentation for details. • Binary Export (*.bin) is a compact binary export format included with the Binary Export add-on. Please refer to chapter 6 for details about this. Note that normally binary formats are more compact and easier to access and read from other software. The binary format also keeps the full resolutions of the values • Text (Tab delimited). (*.txt) This format exports in Windows ANSI text files.
