Exporting a plot to a file<br />

The clipboard is intended only for temporary storage, <strong>and</strong> instead you can<br />

make a true export, storing the plot in a (permanent) graphic image file:<br />

1. Select the plot that you wish to export by clicking either the plot window<br />

in the workspace, or the plot-icon in the project explorer.<br />

2. Export the selected plot in one of the following ways:<br />

• Select Export from the File menu, or…<br />

• Right-click the plot-window in the workspace, or the plot-icon in the<br />

project explorer, <strong>and</strong> select Export from the resulting context menu.<br />

This will bring up an export dialog like the one shown in Figure 6-35.<br />

In this dialog you determine the drive <strong>and</strong> directory in which you want to<br />

store the plot, along with the filename <strong>and</strong> file format desired.<br />

Four formats are supported, Enhanced Metafile being a vector-based<br />

graphics format, while the others are bitmap types.<br />

While JPEG <strong>and</strong> Metafile are fixed formats, the Windows <strong>and</strong> TIFF bitmap<br />

formats can be compressed or uncompressed as selected in the<br />

Compression-field.)<br />
