Channel
Scope: Burst signal display
The System monitor window is opened by right-clicking on the BSA
Application icon in the project explorer, or by right-clicking anywhere in the
BSA Application window, and selecting System monitor from the drop
down list. The example above is for a 1-channel LDA setup.
Samples shows the number of acquired samples. During acquisition, this is
updated on-line. Full scale corresponds to the value of the Max. samples
property under Group.
Acq. Time shows the elapsed acquisition time, updated on-line. Full scale
corresponds to the value of the Max. acquisition time property under Group.
Data rate shows the number of validated bursts per second, on a logarithmic
scale.
Validation shows the ratio 100% * Valid Bursts / (Valid Bursts + Invalid
Bursts).
Spherical validation (only BSA P processors): shows the ratio 100% *
Valid Diameter Samples / Valid Bursts.
Anode current shows the mean photo-multiplier output current. The scale is
fixed with 3 mA as maximum.
High voltage shows the high voltage supplied to the photo-multiplier. The
BSA has built-in protection of the photo-multipliers: if the anode current
exceeds a predefined limit, the high voltage is reduced until the anode
current is below the limit. The scale is fixed with 2000 V as maximum.
Sync. Inputs: If SYNC1 and SYNC2 inputs are defined (see Chapter 6 –
Synchronisation Option), the synchronisation pulse rates are shown as bar
graphs.
For each type of bar graph (except Sync. Inputs), one bar is shown per
coincidence group (see section 0).
The value shown in the bar graph can be shown numerically by rightclicking
on the bar graph.
The displays are triggered by the BSA’s burst detectors. See section 0 for
details about the trigger source selection, and section 0 about zooming in on
the burst signals.
The Burst signal display (Figure 5-15 and Figure 5-16) is tool for
monitoring the Doppler burst signals during set-up and optimisation of the
processor, optics and seeding, and for estimating the required record interval.
