6.9.1 Required hardware
6.9.2 Calibration procedure
The Analog/Digital input Option is required for concentration or temperature
LIF calibration.
This chapter describes how to do a Concentration-LIF calibration. This
procedure is the similar for other calibration like Temperature-LIF or for
other instruments connected to the Analog/Digital Input board requiring a
calibration.
The purpose of the calibration is to calculate the relation between the LIF
signal and a known concentration of dye. This relation will be used
afterward as transfer function in the Analog/Digital input properties to
calculate the dye concentration corresponding to the measured LIF signal. In
the following example, the SignalLIF output is connected to the
Analog/Digital Input 4 (AD4)
• Step 1: by adding step by step a known quantity of dye, the
concentration calibration curve, SignalLIF=f (Dye concentration), is
plotted. A Profile Plot is created as a child of the Moments object.
Figure 6-89 Example of Concentration-LIF calibration curve
• Step 2: Transpose the curve to get the following relation
Concentration=f -1 (SignalLIF)
