Note: it is possible to have other stop criteria defined in a Moments object – please
see section 5.14.4.
Coincidence method: It can be Overlapped or Windowing. This determines how coincidence
filtering is done.
Overlapped requires that bursts partly overlap.
Windowing requires that bursts are detected within a time window defined
by the Coincidence window property. This setting may be useful when
measuring through curved window surfaces, where burst overlap may not be
possible.
With a PDA system, channels LDA1, PDA2 and PDA3 are always running
in Overlaping mode. The Windowing option can be used only in case of 2D
or 3D PDA systems.
Coincidence window: It defines the time window for coincidence filtering by the Windowing
method.
Scope Display: The value can be Off, Burst Signal or Burst Spectrum.
Off is recommended if the PC is heavily loaded during acquisition due to
either many calculation intensive objects or high data rates.
The CPU load can be checked by the Windows Task Manager’s
Performance tab. If it is near 100% during acquisition, it is recommended to
set Scope display Off, and do disable as many objects as possible during
acquisition.
Burst Signal displays the photo-multiplier signal after signal conditioning
and downmixing. Read more in section 0.
Burst Spectrum displays the frequency spectrum of the photo-multiplier
spectrum after signal conditioning and downmixing. Read more in section 0.
Scope zoom: It determines the scaling of the Scope display’s time axis, when the Scope
display property is set to Burst signal. The scaling is in % of the Record
interval (Fixed record length mode) or Max. record interval (Auto-adaptive
record length mode) defined under the LDA1 .. properties. Values can be
typed in or chosen from the list. The highest possible value is 3200%.
Scope trigger channel: The value can be Free run, Individual, 1, 2 or 3.
Free run: the Scope is not triggered by bursts. This can be used to get an
impression of the data rate or background noise.
Individual: Each trace on the Scope is digitally triggered at the center of the
bursts of the individual channel.
1, 2 or 3: All traces on the scope are triggered at the center of the bursts of
the selected channel no. This is useful if dependency between velocity
channels is investigated (e.g. to check coincidence).
