Header structure Name Conversions For each data set a header structure is send to MATLAB ® . This structure can be used to get information about project and data set values. The header structure BFInput consists of 6 parts: four strings and 2 numeric arrays. BFInput = Project_Name: 'my project' Project_Path: ‘c:\ my project.lda’ User_Name: 'user' User_Init: 'ini' Page_Pos: [5x1 double] Date_Time: [6x1 double] Variable name Type Description “Project_Name” string Name of the project “Project_Path” string Full path to the project file “User_Name” string Name of the user “User_Init” string Initials of the user “Page_Pos” array of 5 doubles (1) double Current positions (page number) (2) double Maximum number of positions (max. pages) (3) double Traverse X position (4) double Traverse Y position (5) double Traverse Z position “Date_Time” array of 6 doubles (1) double Year (current year) (2) double Month (1–12; January = 1) (3) double Day of month (1–31) (4) double Hours since midnight (0–23) (5) double Minutes after hour (0–59) (6) double Seconds after minute (0–59) The data fields can be accessed and used in MATLAB by typing e.g. “BFInput.Project_Name” for the name of the project or for the array values e.g. BFInput.Date_Time(0) for the year data field. Because MATLAB does not allow all characters to be used in a variable name, names from BSA Flow Software are converted into a legal MATLAB variable name.
