particle diameter The property that is of foremost importance is that the phase difference
between the two Doppler bursts depends on the size of the particle, provided
that all other geometric parameters of the optics remain constant. In Figure
7-16 we see two particles of different size. The phase difference between the
Doppler bursts from the large particle exceeds that of the smaller particle.
