PUSHING TO THE FRONT<br />

When you are making your daily life list, you need to be very specific.<br />

For example, under your section of calls to be made, don’t just put<br />

someone’s name. You need to put everything you need to make the call.<br />

The person’s name, phone number and reason for the call keeps you<br />

from wondering who Steve is, and why are you calling him!<br />

Now that you have everything on a list that needs to be done for the<br />

day, you need to prioritize! What is the most important thing that has<br />

to be done? Is there anything on the list that would make you just fall<br />

over dead if it didn’t get done? If so, that should probably be at the top.<br />

Tasks that get you closer to any life-changing goals should be in your<br />

top five. Of course, the things that need to get done, but won’t cause<br />

economies to crumble, should round out the rest of your list.<br />

What happens if you don’t get everything done on your list? Most importantly,<br />

don’t beat yourself up. Life happens and you are lucky enough to<br />

have life happening with you. Take the task that was not finished and add<br />

it to your list for tomorrow. However, this does not give you the right to<br />

keep putting that task off, day-after-day. Take a hard look at it. Did that<br />

item not get done because you are dreading doing it? Or, did you just run<br />

out of time? If you are dreading it, then it may need to be broken down<br />

into several smaller tasks that aren’t quite so daunting.<br />

If you were supposed to get 5 new contacts but didn’t, try getting 2<br />

or 3 the next day. You would be setting yourself up for failure if you<br />

took the task of getting 5 new contacts and added it to the next day’s<br />

allotment of getting 5 more new ones. Now it is even bigger! Ten new<br />

contacts! Are you kidding me! You might think to yourself that if you<br />

couldn’t get 5 names yesterday, what makes you think you could get 10<br />

new contacts the next. This would only further destroy your ability to<br />

network and let negativity creep in to your thoughts. You may need to<br />

rebuild your confidence by only getting 2 or 3. That’s okay! Just keep<br />

working towards your goal and build to 5 new contacts a day. You may<br />

surprise yourself and become comfortable enough to start getting more!<br />

This list will also act as a gatekeeper for you. It will allow you to truly<br />

evaluate if something is important to your overall goals. If it won’t allow<br />

you to work towards your larger goals, then does it deserve to be on<br />

your list? If there is something that comes up during the day that needs<br />

to be done, you must look and see where on the list it gets to be added.<br />
