PASSION ANd PURPOSE
on the hamster wheel, spinning furiously. “Down time” is a rare luxury.
We race around at a frantic pace, and we still cannot catch up. In a society
frenzied by this pace, those of us who spend our time doing exactly
what we want to are truly blessed.
Every person comes into this world with unique talents and gifts. I
believe we each have a divine purpose in life, aligned with our talents.
Our true work utilizes our talents to contribute to the greater
good of the world. It is our job to discover our highest mission in
life, and then find a way to make that our daily work.
How can you tell if people are living their divine purposes?
If they are not engaged in their chosen work, they are dragging themselves
through life. Their misery is readily apparent.
On the other hand, when people live their true purposes, they ride veins
of energy. They are excited, passionate and energetic, because they are
pursuing the causes that matter most deeply to them, in alignment with
their values. They are “following the energy,” and they are on fire with
their work.
If you seek them out, you will find shining stars all around you who
are living their purposes, and therefore bettering the world. Surround
yourself with these people! We become who we hang around, so spend
time with positive-minded people who use their gifts to contribute to
the world.
As I move through my day-to-day life, I cross paths regularly with
fortunate folks who are pursuing their passions while contributing to
society. In other words, they are living their true purposes.
For starters, I am endlessly grateful that I lead a life built around my
passions. I am a mother and a wife, and these two roles make me happiest
of all. Our family includes lots of four-legged critters, too, who
bring us endless joy. We are very active in animal rescue, fulfilling a
deep-seated desire to help animals. I am an artist and a writer, and I
work on creative projects that engage and thrill me. I love to learn,
and my graduate school studies ensure that I continue to grow in my
creative pursuits. I am thankful to live an enriched life, surrounding
myself with the people, critters and activities I love.
