His complaint-free message really hit home when I returned to the<br />

U.S., when, within a week, my ten year-old son seemed to be constantly<br />

complaining – about everything. I gave him Will Bowen’s book<br />

and, together, we visited his website at: www.AComplaintFreeWorld.<br />

org. I was happy to see that my son also took the message to heart – and<br />

he suggested we email Will Bowen to thank him. At the same time, I<br />

took the opportunity to casually mention that I could help him with his<br />

ambitions for a China speaking engagement.<br />

Will personally called me a few days later, to my surprise, and told me<br />

he had just returned from China. He said that he didn’t have a person<br />

booking him for appearances in China yet, but there was somebody very<br />

interested in signing him – but he wanted to talk to me first. That did it<br />

for me – I began to see that this just might be what I was looking for. Very<br />

shortly after the call, I went to see him in Kansas City, where he lived.<br />

I told him that China would be very receptive to what he said – that<br />

was already evident from how well his book was selling in its Chinese<br />

translation. The explosive economic growth in China has thrown<br />

many people off-balance. People are increasingly feeling pressured and<br />

stressed out. Everyone needs to be more competitive, creative and willing<br />

to challenge traditional and conventional thinking. In such a social<br />

environment, some people turn to complaining as a way of venting.<br />

Just in time, the book “A Complaint Free World” has helped many<br />

people to bring balance back to their lives.<br />

Will could see that I understood both cultures very well, and how his<br />

message could best be presented in China. He also knew that I was<br />

professionally trained in the business world and had the Chinese connections<br />

that would help him to succeed over there. Even though I had<br />

no idea what I was doing when it came to booking a speaker or setting<br />

up the financial arrangements, he picked me to represent him in China.<br />

That vote of confidence was enough to propel me forward into this new<br />

arena I was incredibly excited about. I researched the speaker industry<br />

to find out what I needed to know – and a couple of months later, I was<br />

already thinking I needed to build a team of speakers to create a real<br />
