The Core Culture of the company provides the answers to the “Should<br />

we or Shouldn’t we” questions that arise within the company on a dayto-day<br />

basis. You know, the soul of the company, the “sayings” the<br />

owner is known for when something happens or a question arises and<br />

there is no one there to provide direction.<br />

Clarity of this Core Culture provides the People guidance to make<br />

sure the Right Things are Done Right.<br />

It is also important in recruiting and hiring to make sure you have the<br />

Right People.<br />

Focus Alignment Accountability Process<br />

2. FocUS – When we talk about Focus and People we talk about<br />

Alignment. We need to get everyone on the same page and aligned<br />

with our Vision, Goals, Actions and Core Culture. Remember the soccer<br />

team from the discussion above.<br />

We then need to Focus People on the doing the Right Things through<br />

making individuals Accountable for each key Action we have identified.<br />

That’s right, only one individual is Accountable. That individual<br />

might need to get others to be responsible for and help accomplish the<br />

various tasks to complete the Action but the buck stops here. I have<br />

seen too many companies, including ones that I worked for where Actions<br />

or projects were assigned to a team or to two people to share. It<br />
