was going much less where the company was going. Of course, I didn’t<br />

either so it wasn’t their fault. What changed? – you got me focused and<br />

refocused, you helped me document where we are going, our Goals,<br />

and the Actions to get us there. Then you kept me focused on 3 to 5 Key<br />

Actions each quarter.<br />

I used the goals we set, communicated them to everyone and we got<br />

the whole company aligned. They get excited about the goals, they look<br />

forward to seeing how we are doing each week, we use dashboards and<br />

weekly huddles and we all are working together. We, as a team, are<br />

having fun again. We have celebrations each quarter when we meet<br />

certain goals. I had my best salesperson tell me the other day that “everyone<br />

is working like a real team, in the past some people were jealous<br />

when I got a big order, now they are excited and helpful.”<br />

So now you keep me focused on the goals and the 3 to 5 Actions that we<br />

are going to focus on executing this quarter. We make one person accountable<br />

for each Action, we have meetings each week, use the dashboards<br />

for reporting, we update the progress against our goals and<br />

we get the Right Things done! We block our calendars each week and<br />

spend an hour here or there during the week and focus on our working<br />

on the Actions.<br />

We used to get distracted, try to do too much and never followed<br />

through. We stopped! Now we stopped stopping! We are Executing.”<br />

So, I have to ask, what would you say is your biggest problem, marketing,<br />

sales, the right people, etc. That is what we usually think. But skip<br />

that problem, peel the onion back and the real basic problem is Lack of<br />

Clarity, Focus and Execution. There is some level of Chaos that is holding<br />

everyone back. We have good intentions, but we get distracted, lose focus<br />

and STOP. Business owners know what they need to do to build a better<br />

business and make any part of the business better. The problem is that they<br />

just don’t seem to be able to focus, follow through and get it done.<br />

They stop!<br />

Anything you focus on GROWS! Thus his revenues grew this last year.<br />

So let’s go and find out the steps we take to make your business one that<br />

executes and brings some fun back.<br />
