ENjOy THE GOOd lIFE
Observing your thoughts is not a common or easy activity, but it is
an incredibly valuable tool. We encourage you to listen to yourself, to
think positively, and to embrace the power of affirmations. Please read
and follow these:
Six tipS to incorporate aFFirMationS into yoUr liFe:
1. Make positive statements. Your affirmations should be positive
and about you. They work when you address goals and attitudes
for which you have full control. (Making a statement wishing
that someone else will do something for you or that something
will happen to you is not an affirmation.) An example that
works is “I enjoy being economically self-sufficient.”
2. Use the present tense. Affirmations should always be in the
present. For example, say: “I am very successful at sales”
instead of “I want to be very successful at sales.” Own the
statement as if you are there now.
3. Consider your lifestyle and goals. Affirmations help you
feel confident and able to reach goals you are working toward
actively. Make sure they fit your lifestyle and goals. To quote
4. Write them down. Write your affirmations down on 3 x
5 note cards and keep them with you. Add them to Postit®
notes and stick them to your bathroom mirror or to the
dashboard of your car. You want them to stay present in your
mind and reminders help.
5. Repeat them over and over. We recommend saying your
affirmations about ten times twice a day. Get in the routine of
saying them first thing in the morning and last thing at night
before bed.
6. Visualize your affirmation – as it is accomplished. Picture
yourself having achieved the goal of your affirmation. Think of
how you will feel, how you will look, and what it will be like.
And remember this quote from the clergyman, Norman Vincent Peale,
“When you affirm big, believe big and pray big, putting faith into ac-
