PUSHING TO THE FRONT
What are the things you’d like to have, see or do? Make a list…a
Dreams List!
The act of writing down desires versus just thinking about them makes
each one more tangible, and makes us more focused on acquiring them.
It’s easy to stop thinking about something that seems too unrealistic
to attain. On the other hand, physically erasing a want from a written
list is more difficult – because it feels like a non-verbal submission of
defeat. Written goals encourage a greater, long-term commitment to
achievement while eliminating any lure of complacency.
Can you imagine waiting over 30 years for a dream to come to fruition?
I can, …because I have! …and it was worth every day that went by for
that hope to become a reality. Having hope is when we grab onto nothing
and hang on to it until it becomes something!
You are the author of your Dreams List and you are not soliciting any
readers. You’re just seeking opportunities that move you closer to your
goals. This focus on the possibilities will keep you in a positive mindset
and deny the temptation to become complacent. If your want is big
enough – the facts won’t matter!
We’re never too old to make a Dreams List…because making dreams
come true never gets old!
Put one crab in a pail and you’ll need a lid to keep it from crawling out.
Put two crabs in a pail and no lid is necessary. Why? Because when one
begins making its escape, the other will pull it back down. This is true
of crabs, and sadly, not so unlike human nature.
Dream Stealers are those who find the negative in other people’s aspirations.
Very often their comments have less to do with their opinion
of the person’s goal and more to do with their own need not to feel
outdone by someone else’s motivation. Digesting the poisonous viewpoints
of others can dilute our desires and eventually result in them
being deleted from our menu of wants.
Beware that some Dream Stealers are less obvious and can be disguised
